Okinawa history puzzle of akagawara chobin

akagawara chobin

Thank you to everyone who has visited the Karate Kaikan page. Born and raised in Okinawa, I, a pure Okinawan product, I would like to deliver various stories about Okinawa seriously and interestingly with karate.

International Kajimaya

International is English and "international" Kajimaya is a crossroads in the Okinawan dialect. In other words, International Kajimaya is a coined word meaning an international crossroads. Okinawa has had exchanges with China and is deeply influenced by Japanese culture. There is also the influence of Southeast Asia, and after the war, American culture has also entered. It can be interpreted as the intersection of these cultures.

Okinawa is said to be the "Keystone of Paifitsk" for the U.S. military. It is considered a military important place connecting the Asian region. "That's why there are so many bases!" The voice of our ancestors after a long time! But that's right. However, if you change the shipping, it will become a base for exchange of people and things. In that sense, I like the word "International Kajimaya".

The secret of Sata Andagi? First of all, from the exchange with China!

Now, let's take a look at the international Kajimaya character of Okinawan culture. First of all, from Chinese culture, rafute, foot tebichi, etc.

At the event, "Seamy", a turtleback tomb, etc.

In terms of words, it's the dialect of Chufala, Sanpincha (Kakatacha, Champiencha), etc., which are used when you are full (full).

The sweets in the photo are flower bolo, chicken egg bran / chirunko, scented rice cake / kompyang.

Oh yeah, there is also performing arts. It looks like China.

Uchikako / Turferku Nakagusuku Village Iju

Oh yeah I forgot it's important! Okinawa's famous sata andagi! This is said to be "Open laughter / Kaikou Xiao".

Speaking of which, if it cracks when you give it up, it's said to be "Yuwaratonya (laughing a lot)".

Next is Japanese style (Japanese style)

Next, most of Japan, events and words are basically Japanese culture.

Japanese style (laughs)

For example, in the ancient Japanese language, the south wind is called "hae" and the easterly wind is called "kochi", but the place names in Okinawa are "Haebaru / Haebaru" and "Kochinda / Kochinda".

Haebaru Cultural Center (There are abundant exhibits about the culture of Haebaru and the army headquarters pit)

Speaking of Kochinda, this person. Okinawan Freedom and People's Rights Campaigner "Jahana Noboru / Jahana Noboru"

There are many in the curtain!

There is also Yamato-style performing arts. There is a performing art of Tadaomizo on Ie Island.

One of the tools of Ryukyu dance, "Fan", Japanese musical instruments such as koto, flute, and drum are used.

Is Kijimuna a southerner? Exchange with Southeast Asia!

Next are Southeast Asian countries

The Ryukyu scale is the same as the scale in Southeast Asia, such as Domifasoside (no sound of le and la), It is said that the way you swing your dancing arms is similar to the dance in Bali.

Ryukyu Dance Yotsutake Okinawan cuisine Chanpuru was introduced from Southeast Asia

Visiting gods wearing masks such as Miyako's "Paantu" and Yaeyama's "Akamata Chromata" "Fenusima (Southern Island)", which dances with red hair disturbed, is southern.
Some people think that the Okinawan youkai "Kijimuna" also came from the south.

Faneshima Kitanakagusuku Atsuta Kijimuna A youkai with red hair who lives mainly in the banyan tree.

All-purpose ingredients? Pork American culture is also included.

Ah! I was about to forget America. Lunch in the morning, day and night (there are A, B and C!), Do you like ketchup and pork luncheon meat?

Pork egg Oh! Steak I forgot Ketchup, but it's night, but C lunch

Cream soda is brown! Cream soda is brown in Okinawa. Of course there is also green, but ...

Nostalgic cream soda It looks like American cream soda now.

In this way, Okinawa created its own culture through exchanges with Japan, China, and Southeast Asia. Furthermore, after the rule of the United States, you have built a culture suitable for the "International Kajimaya" international crossroads.

"Yando! A good place to fly an airplane or helicopter. Let's fly, let's fly the light of culture. " Also, the voice of my ancestors ...

How was it? Anshee Matayasai! (See you again)

What is a history puzzle?

The puzzle is to combine each piece into one picture or photo! Then why not start that piece with "karate" and combine various elements? I'm sure you'll have a big picture of the history and culture of Ryukyu and Okinawa ... I thought about that for the first time. This time, I tried to combine them roughly as an example to see how they are assembled.

The connection between karate and tofu?

The first piece is karate and Shimadofu. The ancient martial arts tools used in Okinawa are displayed in the ancient martial arts corner of the Karate Kaikan. They are not made as weapons from the beginning, but are usually used for work. For example, put something like a stick on both ends of an "order" stick that carries things, put agricultural products in it, and carry it on your shoulder. That stick becomes a tool to protect yourself. As one of the performing arts at the year-end festivals and tug of war in various parts of Okinawa There is a performance of "stick art".

Order (mokko) Stick art (Shikenbaru, Tamagusuku, Nanjo City)

When making tofu, grind and crush soybeans. A handle that turns the stone thin at this time. This is the weapon called "Tunfer".

Stone mill

What is the difference between Okinawa Shimadofu and Japanese tofu?

Now here is the quiz! What is the difference between "Okinawa tofu" and "Japanese tofu" when you go to a supermarket in Okinawa? It's a difference you can see. Please think about it.

To put it simply, the process of making tofu is to soak the soybeans in water and grind them with water while adding water. The mashed one is called "Wu". Tofu is made by boiling this "wu", straining it into soy milk, and adding bittern to it.
But for Okinawan tofu, soak the ground soybeans in water, squeeze it with a cloth, and divide it into okara and soymilk. The soy milk is boiled in a kiln. It is called "raw squeezing method".This is the difference between Okinawan tofu and other prefectures' tofu. Then bring to a boil. Then, add "nigari" and "seawater" to harden it, buy it once (what you can do at this time is "yushi tofu"), put it in a mold, put a weight on it, remove the juice, and finally. Press and it's done. In this way, Okinawa island tofu is completed.
Shimadofu that is indispensable for Okinawa's representative dish "Chanpuru"! There was such a difference.

Raw squeezing method Yushi tofu It's delicious if you add a lot of green onions. Tofu Chanpuru

How was it? History puzzle! If the pieces are connected in this way, something interesting may be created. e! What is the answer to the quiz? It continues to the next piece of karate and tofu. Next time, we will talk about "Is Shimadōfu dark tofu?" And "Samurai Matsushigera". looking forward to! Anshee, see you again.

[3] Change of the times Yugawai (change of the times) New!

The puzzle is to combine each piece into one picture or photo! This time, we will deliver it in "Yugawai" and "Shimadōfu".

"Yugawai changing the world" = the flow of the times

From the Tang dynasty Tonuyu to the Yamato world Yamatunuyu ~ ♪ From the Yamato world to the American world ~ ♪ From the American world to the Yamato world ~ ♪
Although it was delivered in the pre-delivered "International Kajimaya", Ryukyu and Okinawa prospered by trading with "Japan", "China" and "Southeast Asian countries", and after the war, under the rule of the United States, various cultures It's mixed.
The major historical flow of Ryukyu and Okinawa is represented by the country name. Yugawai ".
There is also a song called "You You You You You You You" by Rinken Band.

Is Shimadofu dark tofu?

Various things happen at the turning point of the world. There was a problem due to cultural differences!
Okinawan tofu is different from other prefectures (hereinafter referred to as Yamato), isn't it?
Ah! Speaking of which, you gave a quiz.
Problem: What is the difference between "Okinawa tofu (shimadofu)" and "Japanese tofu" when you go to a supermarket in Okinawa?

Answer
"Yamato tofu is sold in water?" "Shimadōfu is in a plastic bag." Recently, Shimadofu is often packed in packs and sold in water.
"The size of one is different" Yamato 300g Shimadofu 800-900g.

Okinawa people are about

By the way, when I went to buy tofu, I was told "Please buy half of tofu" and the shop staff also said "Please give me half of tofu". e! It ’s just a bottle, right? Is it? I wonder ...
If you think about it now, "half tofu" is strange. Do you call it "half-chome"? It's Okinawa About.

Epoch episodes

Would you like to return to the main subject?
When Okinawa returns to Japan in 1972, Japanese law will be applied. So, in Yamato, tofu was sold in water. However, in Okinawa, Achikoko and slightly chilled tofu are sold in plastic bags, which is a violation of the law.
At this rate, Shimadofu becomes "law-violating" tofu, and if left unchecked, it becomes "illegal dark tofu." The head of the tofu union who noticed it went to Yamato and repeated petition, so whether it was recognized as a special case or changed the law, Shimadōfu did not become dark tofu!
Isn't there something else like this in the world? It was one of the pieces of the world, "Shimadōfu".
Anshee, see you again!

【4】歴史パズル 世界遺産と沖縄の石文化 New!
